Kindergarten Registration

Hi everyone! Just a reminder that Kindergarten registration is going on right now at the elementary schools. You can drop in at your school and pick up a packet, then return it asap. To turn in your packet you will need a full sized birth certificate, immunization records (birth to date, but does not have to be completed at this time) and proof of residency (a recent utility bill or renters/buyers agreement).

It is so important to get registered so the school knows how many kindergarten teachers they need for next year! :) Can you believe the time is going so fast?

Everyone Loves Wednesdays

We love Wednesdays at preschool... why? Because we do centers!

The kids LOVE centers! We split into small groups and rotate through 3 different centers.

Center #1: Teacher Center

We go though our abc flashcards then practice building and sounding out words. This week we worked on "at" words (I took that picture last week! :) ) See if your child can sound out "cat" "mat" "sat" "bat" etc. They are doing great!

Center #2: Worksheet center

The kids do a "review" worksheet that they can complete on their own

Center #3: Dum-dum Reading

I bet you can guess which center the kids love most... dum dum reading of course! During this center the kids get a dum dum sucker and read a book. So simple, but so fun! We do this center every other week. Next week we'll have a "little buddy" reading center where the kids choose a stuffed animal to hold while they read. They love these centers and I love them because I can work one on one with the kids. I see so much progress when we work in centers!

Library Field Trip

Our 3 year old class got to go on a field trip in January- we went to the library in Eagle Mountain. We had such a great time!

The kids were very well behaved, the librarians were impressed! We got to hear a story about how to take care of library books and a story about the letter M. We got to tour the children's section of the library and even got to see what was upstairs.

It is so fun to see how much this class loves books- they all wanted to check a book out to take home with them!

Catch Up!

Hi everyone! Sorry it has been awhile since the last post- I have been a little overwhelmed with registration for next year. I have been extremely blessed- both of my 4 year old classes are full for next year- overfull in fact! I am planning on finishing a room in my basement and moving the preschool downstairs so I can take a few more kids. Right now I have 12 registered in each class. Crazy! Thank you to all of you who have referred me to your friends and neighbors! I am so grateful!

Lets see, we had a fun month in January. I think everyone's favorite part was our field trip to Little Casears!

It was fun to have both classes come at the same time. They loved meeting each other!

Snowman

Our art project this week was "building" a snowman. Since we have ZERO snow, we used cottonballs- they turned out great!

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas break! I know I loved not having a schedule, sleeping in, and eating whatever for 2 weeks! It will be nice to get back to life though!

Here is a quick recap of some of our December activities:

We talked about Christmas in Holland, made a wooden shoe, and left our shoes by the fireplace for Sinterklaaus...he brought us treats!

We had a fun Christmas program for our parents.

We decorated sugar cookies and had hot chocolate.

December is always such a fun month in preschool!
