Christmas is in full swing at preschool! We are working on some fun poems to share at our program on the 15th, and we are doing some fun Christmas art projects... here's a sneak peek! :)

November Wrap-Up

Friday Class Udate

We have been having fun in our 3 year old class! We have such a great group of kiddos! I love that class!

Thankful Turkeys

Last week we worked on our class "Thankful Turkeys."

It was so fun to see what the kids are thankful for!

Hooray for Halloween!

We had such a fun week last week!

We celebrated the letter "H" with "Hat Day" on Wednesday:

And then Thursday we had our Halloween program!

The kids looked great in their costumes and they did a great job with our Halloween songs and poems! Thanks for coming, everyone! :)

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we braved the wind and cold to go on our field trip to Evan's Family Farm in Lehi. Sooo cold, but soooo fun! :)

Before we got started, we had to snap a few class pictures:

and went off to the hay-bale maze (tons better than a corn maze! Especially with preschoolers! :))



We also got to go on a wagon ride, pick a pumpkin and jump in the hay!

It was cold, but we had a great time! Thank you to all our parent helpers!

Pumpkin Man!

This week we finished our Pumpkin-man that we started last week....

Last Thursday we painted them, then yesterday it was time to add the arms and legs....

They turned out great! :) Have a great fall break everyone! Next Tuesday when we come back it is our field trip to Evan's Family Farm!

Dinosaurs with the 3 year old class

I feel like I always forget to blog about the three year old class...sorry! I really, really, really LOVE my 3 year old class this year! They are so super cute and well behaved. They are just the sweetest!

Last Friday we talked about the letter D and learned a song about donuts. We also talked about the number 5 and added 5 sprinkles to a pretend donut. I think the kiddos were craving donuts by the end of class! I wish I would have grabbed some for them- next year I will for sure! :)

We also watercolored some dinosaurs. The kids loved using the watercolors- they did a great job!

Lovely Leaves

Last week we did a watercolor leaf art project... they turned out great!

We have been in school now for over a month, and everyone seems to be settling into the routine. The behavior in class has been so good the last few weeks- everyone has stayed on "green"! Thank you so much for letting me work with your cute kids- they always make my day better! :)

Hooray for Dinosaur Day!

Last week to celebrate the letter D, we had Dinosaur day!

We read lots of books about dinosaurs, did a dinosaur math page, watched a short dinosaur movie and made dinosaur footprint cookies.... what a fun day!

PS: we also had donuts on Wednesday for our letter "D" snack... sorry if the kids came home a little wired! :) (holy cow these kids are cute!!!)

4 year old class- Letter C week!

Wow... I am soooo not good at updating the preschool blog! I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since we had our "C is for Cookie" day!

The kids loved making their letter C cookies...I gave them a few extra chocolate chips to munch on when they finished their paper cookie!

So of course, the next day we had to make real cookies for snack time! Yum! :)

Apple Day with the 3 year old class!

Last Friday we had Apple Day with my three year old class. They were so cute learning our "A" poem:

"Way up high in the apple tree,

2 little apples smiled down at me.

I shook the tree as hard as I could-

DOWN came the apples.... mmmmmmmm they were good!"

They were SO excited to get their apples out of the their backpacks, that we didn't have time to do much with them... we quickly tested to see if they could float in hot water (which also helped wash them ;) ) then they started eating them!

Next week: the letter B! :)

Oh- we have also started practicing for our Halloween Program. So if your child comes home singing some spooky songs, you'll know why! :)

What are they saying?

I'm sure many of you are wondering about the songs and cheers we do everyday in school. Many of the kids are still learning them, so they may not know all the words. :)

Here is our morning cheer:

"2, 4, 6, 8- we think preschool's really great!

We can read, and we can write,

we are cheerful, we are bright!

Smarty Pants Preschool- whoo!"

And our rules song (the tune is "Oh My Darlin' Clementine")

"In our classroom, in our classroom,

we have rules, 1-2-3.

One person talks,

Be a super sitter,

and keep hands of policy!"

And our end of school cheer:

"We are finished, we are done,

we worked hard and we had fun!

Smarty Pants Preschool- whoo!"

Ask your child to show you our cheers and to sing the rules song for you... now that you know the words! :)

PS: we also do the Pledge of Allegiance everyday, so if you can help your child with that at home, it would be great! Thanks!

"B" week

Our 4 year old classes had a great week last week learning about the letter "B"....

We had "Breakfast with a Book"....

And played with "Bean Bags"

We also learned a song (that didn't really have anything to do with the letter B, but it goes along with our "All About Me" theme this month:

"I am Special" (tune: Are you Sleeping?)

Ask your child if they can sing it for you.... then talk about all the things that makes them unique!
